The animation shows a trolley being accelerated along a horizontal friction-free track by a set of slotted masses attached to the trolley by a thread hanging down over a pulley.
The greater the weight of the slotted masses the greater the acceleration of the trolley.
Doubling the weight will double the accelerating force and so double the acceleration.
