Circular waves

This animation shows the formation of circular waves by a source (the yellow dot) and their motion through space. This type of wave would be formed by an oscillating ball in the surface of a tank of water.

If the ball oscillates slower the frequency of the waves would be decreased and their wavelength increased (assuming a constant wave speed). However if it oscillates faster the frequency is increased and the wavelength decreased.
